I am happy to recommend Refik, of  Imagine That Painting and Decorating. Refik has proven time and again that he is not only a skilled craftsman and artist, but more importantly, an extremely integrous person. My husband and I have hired Refik many times over the years for small and large projects in our home as well as our business. In fact, we were so pleased with the quality of his work that we have routinely given his business card to friends, co-workers, and clients. Refik is very conscientious and keeps communication a priority when he's working on a project. Refik is so dependable and detail oriented when performing a job that we feel completely comfortable leaving him the keys to both our home and business as well as allowing him to make decisions about what looks best within the perimeters of our taste and budget. We have always been thrilled with the end results and a job well done. 

I would like to mention that the most tedious projects Refik has completed for us are also the ones which command the most attention and garner the most praise. Years ago, he designed and completed such a realistic paint job on the concrete floor in our downstairs bathroom and hallway that people were shocked when I told them we had not put in an oak floor! They would stand and stare at it for several moments before finally confirming that indeed it was paint. In the same hallway, Refik sealed and plastered over dated wallpaper before he created what appears as beautiful, individual stonework making the hallway seem like it’s in a castle! In another instance, this time at our business, Refik installed a Japanese Shoji door and quickly shared his vision of a custom shelf above it to create a better and more solid appearance while making the door itself seem much more elaborate.  I was then able to utilize this shelf as a decorative area instead of only a thin room divider as I had imagined. Another impressive job, which shows how much attention Refik will pay to even a relatively small project, is when I asked him to create a custom frame for a very special print I have. He showed up with a frame that looked as though he had found it in an antique store! He said that he crafted it from a mold he made from a beautiful old family portrait frame which had been in his wife’s family for years! There are many more impressive shows of Refik’s skill around my home and business, including a brilliant faux paint job over dated wallpaper in our kitchen, and of course, all of the standard jobs like window & door frames, pocket door installations and common painting, but I am still most impressed by the fact that he is the complete package everyone will desire in a skilled contractor with something most contractors lack….an international style and imagination from years as a cruise ship captain in Turkey traveling the world one half of the year, when he wasn’t running his own contracting business the other half of the year!

We have had several individuals in the past performing “OK” jobs, but after having Refik’s talents employed, we have not looked elsewhere. We just love his work and thoroughly enjoy his professional attitude. We hope you will see for yourself!
